Cloud Computing Basic: Understanding Different Types of Cloud Computing

With the new trend of cloud computing, it may shaken your business a little bit. Unless, you join in and start using this cloud computing technology, you may find some set back on your business. You may find this cloud computing as a foreign technology and you have less understanding about how it word and such. Then, why don’t you start by catching up learning some new things. Cloud Computing has vast collection of services. Basically, it has three different services of Software as a Service (SaaS) followed by Platform as a Service (PaaS), and last Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

Cloud computing itself can be described as a collection or stack that responds on different range services that are built up on top. It can also be considered as a model that brings convenient, on-demand network access into configurable computing resources collectively shared. This technology should be able to get released and provisioned under minimum management and interaction to service provider. In short, cloud computing is a new technology to give ability to end user in using bulk resources parts quickly and easily.

The characteristics of cloud computing cover are mostly identified from broad network access, rapid elasticity, on-demand self service, resource pooling, measured service, and of course rapid elasticity.

Within cloud computing is three different categories that build this technology. It can be described from the bottom category as the following:

  • Infrastructure as a Service consists of the entire infrastructure, from hardware to software that support and power up everything in cloud computing. It’s everything about servers, operating system, networks, and storage.
  • Platform as a Service consists of tools and services that specially designed for deployment and coding of applications for faster and efficient process.
  • Software as a Service refers to applications on end-users that’s delivered over the web.

All these three build up cloud computing and make it as the new face of software development technology.
